The TR3 was a great success, in both sales and on the race track, for Triumph. When Triumph updated the TR line from the TR2 to the TR3, updates were made to just about every area of the car including: the double A-arm front suspension, front disc brakes as standard, a 10 HP increase over the TR2, and the option of electronic overdrive.
