The Barracuda was Plymouth's entry into the "pony car" market and competed directly against the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro. In 1965, Plymouth introduced the Formula S trim package on the Barracuda to better compete against the performance cars on the market. The Formula S included new standard features such as the 235 HP 273 cubic inch V8, in-dash tachometer, upgraded suspension, larger wheels and tires, as well as an added stripe package. This 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S is a very nice example of these great pony cars and is 1 of 2,970 Formula S Barracudas produced in 1966 with a manual transmission. This Barracuda benefits from an older restoration that still presents very well finished in its Dark Blue metallic exterior paint.
