Mercedes-Benz solidified their reputation for building luxury with the introduction of the SL class, 2 seater convertibles. This 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is an excellent example. In 2010, LaVine Restorations, Inc in Nappanee, Indiana, completed a highly detailed restoration. Accompanying this 450SL are receipts from the restoration that total more than $87000.00. WIth the high quality of work preformed, it was awarded a National First Prize from AACA at the 2013 Auburn, Indiana meet. The letter from AACA and the trophy will be passed along with the 450SL as well as the receipts. The car still shows very well, and is in overall excellent condition. During the restoration, the 4.5L V8 and transmission were both rebuilt by Charles Mong from Indianapolis, Indiana. This 450SL runs and drives just as it should. The high quality paint is in excellent condition as well as the exterior chrome and stainless trim. The exterior is enhanced by the polished factory chrome wheels, and the addition of an AMG front spoiler. The body colored hard top and tan soft top are both in excellent condition. The red leather interior is in excellent condition showing little to no wear. Nicely optioned with air conditioning, power windows, power antenna, factory tachometer, power steering, power front disc brakes, and added aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM with CD stereo.
